Egypt, August 2016: A number of new listings on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) over the past two years have made the bourse one of the best-performing in the region, a dynamic that will be explored in a report by the global publishing firm Oxford Business Group (OBG).
The Report: Egypt 2017 will look at increasing interest among local companies to list on the exchange, including the potential privatisation of several state-owned firms. There will also be detailed coverage of new products that are being rolled out, such as the introduction of the nation’s first exchange-traded fund. The OBG report will also look at efforts to boost participation from small and medium-sized enterprises in the capital markets through the country’s small board, the NILEX.
HC Securities & Investments will once again team up with OBG for the publishing firm’s upcoming report on the country. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with OBG to compile and produce the Capital Markets chapter of The Report: Egypt 2017.
Hussein Choucri, Chairman and Managing Director at HC Securities & Investment, said that he was delighted to collaborate with OBG to produce an authoritative report for global investors while Egypt’s economy is undergoing rapid change.
“A new period in Egypt has brought about a certain level of economic stability and the opportunity for further growth,” he said, “In this way, our teams will be working together throughout the production of the report in order to examine Egypt’s performance in specific markets, most notably the EGX, mutual funds and bonds.”
Emilie Wilson, OBG’s Country Director in Egypt, said that HC Security & Investment’s contribution is particularly welcome in helping to navigate the evolving landscape of the country’s capital markets.
“The partnership will help Oxford Business Group produce data, analysing the most pertinent issues and developments for those eyeing Egypt as an investment destination,” she said. “We are looking forward to documenting the country’s growth over a pivotal period in the second half of 2016.”
The Report: Egypt 2017 will analyse the challenges and opportunities that are defining the country’s economy, including in trade, investment, infrastructure, banking, energy and industry.
