Chairman and Managing Director
Hussein Choucri is the Chairman and Managing Director of HC Securities & Investment. Mr. Choucri has led HC Securities and Investment to be one of the most renowned financial institutions in the MENA region with operations in Egypt and the UAE.
Mr. Choucri joined Morgan Stanley in New York in 1980 and was Managing Director from 1987 till 1993, and Advisory Director until December 2007. He was responsible for business activities in the emerging markets of the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent.
He was involved in a variety of privatization projects in Turkey, India and Argentina. In addition, Mr. Choucri undertook a number of advisory services for clients of Morgan Stanley inside and outside of the U.S.A. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley; He worked with the Abu Dhabi Investment Company and participated in arranging several Euroloan and Eurobond financings for sovereigns and private sector companies.
Mr. Choucri is a Board Member of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES), Edita Food Industries, the Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH), 6 October Development & Investment (SODIC), and the Egyptian British Business Council (EBBC).
He received a Management Diploma from the American University in Cairo in 1978 and his B.A. from the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University in 1972.
Ali Choucri is a commercial real estate agent and consultant based in Boston, MA. He specializes in primarily in multifamily sales, working with institutional investors, real estate funds and developers. He has brokered several large off-market deals and complex real estate transactions. Mr. Choucri has also consulted for corporate relocation providers, local small businesses in Boston and technology startups. Before working in Real Estate, he jumpstarted a successful financial career as an analyst on the investment banking real estate team at Morgan Stanley. He subsequently employed the knowledge he acquired at Morgan Stanley in an investment-banking role in at HC Securities in Egypt, where he focused on hotel M&A transactions and spearheaded organizational development initiatives that remain in effect today. Inspired by the benevolence of his father, Mr. Choucri donates a percentage of his commissions to a local children’s charity in Boston and partakes in various volunteering initiatives each year.
Mahmoud Selim joined HC in 2005 and has been heading its Investment Banking arm since 2012.
He played a key role in expanding the firm’s client base, advising numerous local & international companies operating in different sectors, including banking, healthcare, food and beverage, FMCG and packaging (such as Emirates NBD, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Egypt, Marico, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Tabouk Pharmaceuticals, Almarai Co., Savola Group and Middle East Glass Manufacturing Co.), on over 20 successfully executed M&A transactions in excess of USD 1.5Bn.
Board Member – Head of Business Development at NCB Capital
Mr. Todd was previously a Managing Director at Jadwa Investment, a startup merchant bank launched in 2007, where he established and led their Investment Banking and Private Equity business lines. From 2010-2013 he was their Chief of Staff, responsible for strategy, and was a member of the Management, Product, and Investment Committees, and was a Director of the Jadwa Fund Board.
Prior to Jadwa, Mr. Todd was an Associate Principal with McKinsey and was based in Spain, the US and the UAE.
He has an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University (1999) and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Christian Brothers University (1994).
Wassim Al Khatib
Board Member – Head of Investment Banking at NCB Capital
Wassim Al Khatib is the Head of Investment Banking at NCB Capital with over 10 years of experience in various aspects of investment banking advising clients operating in the key Saudi sectors.
Over the last three years, he led his team on the origination and execution of over SR 32 billion in investment banking mandates in debt and equity capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, private placements and real estate.
Prior to joining NCB Capital in 2008, Mr. Al Khatib worked in Corporate Finance at The National Commercial Bank, where he worked on the execution of transactions in corporate finance, securitization and real estate.
Mr. Al Khatib graduated with a B.S. Degree from The Pennsylvania State University, USA, and completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School, USA. He also completed investment banking programs at Goldman Sachs International, London.
Minoush Abdel- Meguid
Family lineage of Talaat Harb Pasha, leading Egyptian economist and founder of Banque Misr (The Bank of Egypt – the first Egyptian bank owned by Egyptian shareholders and staffed by Egyptian nationals), and its group of companies.
Mahmoud N. Ibrahim is highly qualified, results-oriented international banker with broad and diversified experience in marketing, corporate strategy, project finance, equity investments, bond origination, loan origination, international trade and legislative/regulatory issues. Expertise in regulatory change, model risk, e-trading, regulatory change, and equity capital markets (ECM). He owns a comprehensive knowledge of the European, U.S. and Middle East & North Africa regions/markets.
Worked at Union de Banques Arabes et Françaises (Paris, France) and Citibank (Cairo, Egypt) and in addition, Mr. Ibrahim played the role of an international banker in several renowned financial institutions; he held the position of Executive Vice-President at EFG Bank Monaco (Monte Carlo, Monaco) and First Vice-President at Merrill Lynch PF&S, Inc. – Wealth Management (Paris, France)
Mr. Ibrahim earned all of Merrill Lynch’s Strategic Goals in terms of number of assets gathered, number and level of clients attracted, and total revenue generated.
Mr. Ibrahim holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Pacific Western University (California, USA) and received the American Bankers Association (ABA) Diploma, he also holds registered broker licenses: Series 7 and 3. Mr. Ibrahim graduated from the American University in Cairo in1982, major of Business Administration (awarded High Honors) with emphasis in Finance and Management, Minor in Economics.
