Prior to starting his investment banking career at Salomon Brothers, Mr. Metwally was a real-estate equity research analyst at Salomon Brothers New York and London. He also held other positions including senior financial advisor to the Minister of Finance of Egypt through the USAID, Adjunct Professor of Finance at Cal State University, Long Beach California, and Managing Director of Orbel, a private investment company in USA.

Mohamed Metwally joined HC in April 2012. Prior to that he was the Managing Director & CEO of Siraj Finance an Islamic home finance company in Abu Dhabi. Mr. Metwally had previously held the positions of Regional Head of Investment Banking at Salomon Brothers and Merrill Lynch in London, and Standard Chartered and HSBC in Dubai respectively.

Mr. Metwally’s investment banking transaction experience spans a wide range of sectors and products including M&A advisory, equity and debt capital markets transactions, and leveraged finance.

Mr. Metwally earned his MBA at Columbia Business School, New York (USA) where he was awarded the Merit Fellowship, and later received Executive Leadership training at INSEAD (France) and London Business School (United Kingdom.). Prior to joining the investment banking industry, he was a Registered Architect in the State of New York (1985-1993.) Mr. Metwally also holds a BA in Architecture from Pratt Institute (New York) and BSc in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University.
