The conference was held in order to discuss the status and future of the region’s markets approaching the USD1.0 trillion mark in capitalization, types of listed instruments, including equities, bonds and Islamic sukuks. The conference also touched upon an array of issues including: Interaction and cooperation between regional capital markets, the launch of the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), developments in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia, the vibrant environment for IPOs, the emergence of private equity, and a look at the future of the sukuk.
